A Pylewell Park Wedding Amidst the New Forest Splendour

Driving through the New Forest on a lovely May morning, I was buzzing to shoot Robyn and Edward's wedding at Pylewell Park. The countryside looked brilliant as I drove past, wild horses wandering about, people out enjoying the sunshine. Coming up the long drive, I got my first proper look at the gorgeous Grade II listed house that would be hosting this wedding.

I headed upstairs to find Robyn with her mum and bridesmaids in this massive suite. The ceilings were ridiculously high and the windows looked out over the gardens where I could see Edward and his mates having a kickabout before getting ready.

Down in the marquee, staff were putting the finishing touches on everything for the wedding breakfast. Lovely soft flowers everywhere, creating a really nice atmosphere. I photographed Robyn getting into her Suzanne Neville dress - it looked fantastic on her. Her dad was waiting downstairs in the entrance hall for their first look moment before heading off to church.

The ceremony was at St John's Church in Boldre, a really sweet little place surrounded by spring flowers. Edward looked properly nervous but excited as Robyn came down the aisle. After a lovely service, they came out to loads of confetti, with the page boy chucking the last handful as they headed back to Pylewell.

Everyone gathered on the lawn for drinks, finding shade under this massive old oak tree. Lots of chatting and laughing, with 'The Wandering Hands' playing in the background. After getting the group shots done, I took Robyn and Edward around the grounds for some portraits, making use of all the colorful flowers and the house's architecture.

Inside the marquee, the couple made their entrance to cheering from all the guests. The wedding breakfast was brilliant - great food, lots of laughter, and some really touching speeches. You could tell it was going to be a proper party later, and "The Ambassadors" band were ready to deliver.

When the light started getting golden, I grabbed Robyn and Edward for some sunset shots. The front of Pylewell Park looked amazing as the sky turned this lovely amber color. Back inside, everyone was dancing away.

Knackered but happy, I drove back through the New Forest, chuffed to have found such a great venue so close to home. The Pylewell team had been brilliant all day. I was already looking forward to day two - a casual BBQ and drinks in Lymington to help everyone recover!
